Asphalt Pavement Preservation Guide
Instructions
Purpose: To provide those responsible for America's highway transportation systems with a tool to evaluate pavement preservation options.
Benefit: To help identify the most effective pavement preservation treatment(s) based on the conditions of the road being evaluated.
Instructions:
  1. Choose a road system to analyze with the tool.
  2. Begin in the "Traffic" section. Use the scroll arrow to highlight the appropriate Average Daily Traffic Count (Ali) selection for the road system being analyzed.
  3. Move to the "Cost" section. Use the scroll arrows to appropriately describe each of the four factors.
    • If there are no further pavement conditions in question for the road system being analyzed: Hit the Submit button on the top right. Suggested results appear in red in the "Results" section.
    • The more information provided in the "Pavement Conditions" section provides more effective preservation treatment recommendations.
  4. Move to the "Pavement Conditions" section. Use the scroll arrows to describe any/all pavement conditions in question for the road system being analyzed. Hit the Submit button on the top right. Suggested results appear in red in the "Results" section.
  5. To view further information on the "Recommended Treatments" or "Other Potential Treatments" shown, click on the treatment name in red (one at a time) and the description will appear to the right in the "Additional Information" section.
